The Summer Book Quest, Libraries Unlimited's summer reading challenge for children, launches on the 11th July!
The Summer Book Quest: Mission to Wayfarer Island follows a group of friends as they set out to help an explorer on an exciting, transport-themed adventure. Children can participate with a mix of activities and reading, and receive a special medal upon completion.
Children aged 4 to 11 can join the quest and set a reading goal. To complete the quest, they collect stickers for reading and participating in activities. From riding a bike, drawing a picture or writing a book review. Come along any time from the 11th July to join the challenge, children have until Saturday, 12th September to complete their quests.
We'll also be running a free special transport-themed Story Time at 10:30 in the children's library followed by themed crafts - we'll be reading You Can't Call an Elephant in an Emergency by Patricia Cleveland-Peck.
