The South Devon Food Alliance was established in 2020 to support Teignbridge and South Hams communities find and develop local food solutions, increasing the region's access to a healthy diet.
We support small food banks, open access facilities (community larders, pantries, fridges and boxes), Mutual Aid groups, hot meal providers and other VCSE organisations providing food related activities such as lunch clubs, cooking courses, food redistribution organisations and some growers and community growing spaces.
Members can join a thriving Whatsapp group to source surplus foods, learn good practise, link with wider food networks in the region and find advice on financial planning or benefits signposting.
Teignbridge CVS has supported and facilitated this network to support the setup of pilot projects and conducted research to tackle a variety of issues around equality, accessibility, affordability, healthy eating, social isolation, skills building and waste reduction.
