We are currently recruiting for Trustees at The Acorn Centre.
We are a register charity that has been operating since 1965 and was originally created as a youth space for all the children in the local area to attend, be safe, play and thrive.
It has now evolved into a community hub to its local residents and beyond serving as a Youth, Community and Sports Centre. We offer a number of inhouse social activities and have a variety of spaces to hire.
Being a Trustee means that you are willing to support the charity and its users, make informed decisions and vote on matters that help and support the charity and it's longevity.
We generally meet quarterly and keep up to date with the centres progress monthly by way of the Managers report.
We currently have positions for the following
- Treasurer
- Secretary
However if you prefer to just be a Trustee this would also be acceptable.
Certain skill sets are desired but are not limited to:
- Management
- Fundraising
- Community engagement
- Sports and Fitness
- Accountancy
- Bid Writing
