Tavistock Museum is a welcoming, volunteer-run charity dedicated to sharing the rich heritage of Tavistock- known as the ‘Western Gateway to Dartmoor’ - and its surrounding area. Located in an historic building at the Court Gate in the centre of Tavistock, the Museum offers displays and exhibitions that explore the town’s archaeological, industrial, cultural, and social past. With strong community connections and a focus on education and inclusion, it plays an important role in preserving local stories and linking them to the wider history of South West England and the UK. Tavistock Museum is the designated Area Centre for UNESCO the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. Trustees help guide the Museum’s future, ensuring it remains a valued and inspiring resource for all.
We are currently looking for up to five new Trustees to join our current Board. We’re looking for Trustees who bring energy, skills, and a proactive approach to help guide the Museum’s future. These new Trustees will join an experienced team.
