The South Hams Literary festival is a project of the South Hams Authors Network. Following on from our success with the Dartmoor Edge Literary Fest last October, the South Hams Authors Network are back in 2023, with a new, freshly crafted and formatted literary festival. As always, this aims to celebrate the local authors of the South Hams, whilst at the same time providing some special guests.
This time the festival will be held in various venues around the town of Ivybridge (including the Watermark) and will hopefully involve the whole community. There will be author talks and readings, performances, poetry, comedy, workshops for aspiring writers, free children’s activities, a book and craft fair, and much more. This will of course bring more visitors into the town, benefitting businesses and highlighting the delights of Ivybridge. The venues involved will gain more trade and the audiences will hopefully have an enjoyable experience.
Please note the festival dates which are: Wed 13th – Sun 17th September 2023
Talks and workshops will be run solely by local authors, in the first instance by those of the South Hams Authors Network. This is an organisation which aims to support and encourage local authors and offer opportunities to share their work with a wider audience.
Entry to ticketed events will be at a low cost, with children’s activities being free.
