Our Rugby Club is seeking a creative and enthusiastic social secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with the general committee to plan social events for the club members, supporters, and the wider community. The Social Secretary is responsible for ensuring that social events are inclusive, meet the needs of the members, and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and community values aligned to the Club. This is a volunteer position with the potential to gain valuable experience in event planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise social events for the club members, including end-of-season awards ceremony, work parties, and fundraising events.
- Work closely with event committees to coordinate event activities, such as catering, music, and venue set up
- Propose and develop new social events that align with the club's vision and mission
- Maintain an accurate record of events and expenditure budgets
- Cooperate with other committee members to ensure members are provided with a balanced calendar of events throughout the playing season
- Promote all upcoming events through the club website, email newsletters and social media channels
- Liaise with local sponsors and businesses to secure donations and sponsorships for club events
- Attend monthly committee meetings to present updates and budget status
