About SisterWood
SisterWood is an innovative charity supporting girls and young women (aged 12–16) to build mental resilience and a deeper connection to the natural world. We run nature-based programmes that centre creativity, community, and care, offering safe, inclusive spaces where young people can explore their agency and self-worth.

Our work is grounded in the belief that nature and creativity can be powerful tools for mental well-being, especially for those facing difficult times. If that resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role
We're looking for a Programme Support Volunteer – Nature & Wellbeing to join our summer programme. You’ll be part of a small, nurturing team supporting weekly outdoor sessions filled with creativity, reflection, and connection.

This role is ideal for someone who feels at home in woodland settings, enjoys working with young people, and brings warmth, imagination, and a steady presence to a group.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the weekly delivery of nature-based sessions alongside our Lead Facilitator

  • Helping to run creative activities (e.g. bushcraft, craft, movement, games, storytelling)

  • Creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for young people

  • Holding space during check-ins and supporting reflective moments with care

  • Contributing to team debriefs and adapting the programme together

Time Commitment

  • Taster Day: Sunday 12th May, 10:00 AM–3:30 PM

  • Programme Dates: Mondays, June 2nd – July 21st (8 weekly sessions), approx 8.30 AM–3:00 PM

  • Includes time for set-up, pack-down, and team check-ins

  • Optional involvement in one planning/training session (approx. 8 hours)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience supporting youth or community-based activities

  • Confidence engaging with young people in a group setting

  • A love for nature and creativity

  • A calm, team-oriented approach

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (within the last 3 years) is required
(If you don’t have one, we may be able to support your application—please mention this when you apply)

  • Ability to travel to our Devon site

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed or reflective practices

  • Experience with outdoor learning or arts-based facilitation

  • First Aid or Mental Health First Aid training

  • Creative skills (e.g. music, storytelling, art, movement)
