In Murder Most Foul, the third film in the Miss Marple series starring Margaret Rutherford, the sharp-witted amateur sleuth finds herself on a murder trial jury. When she’s the lone juror voting “not guilty,” causing a mistrial, Miss Marple decides to investigate the case herself. Her suspicions lead her to a small theatrical troupe, where she goes undercover as an actress to uncover the truth. As she digs deeper, she uncovers hidden motives, secrets, and another murder, eventually unmasking the killer with her trademark blend of intuition and tenacity.
This film blends cozy mystery with light comedy, and showcases Rutherford’s energetic, unconventional take on Agatha Christie’s beloved character.
