Safety first please!

Be sensible and keep yourself safe....

Don't pick up needles or anything sharp like broken bottles and don't engage with anyone you see dropping litter.

Do be careful around roads and water; avoid toxic waste such as animal faeces, condoms, batteries and other waste that could endanger you,

We want this to be a simple task on your everyday walk...so just ordinary litter but if you feel the urge you can go one step further and easily recycle by using two collecting bags, one for recycling the other for ordinary rubbish.

Come on! Bag it and bin it! Let us make a difference!

Gloves and litter pickers are great to use to keep safe too. If you use a litter picker you don’t have to touch anything. B&M in Tiverton sell them or Screwfix or Amazon. It can also make litter picking a bit more fun and like a game.

Excellent suggestion, thank you :) Litter pickers also really make things easier on your back and legs! If anyone spots other local places where they are available, let us all know.
