Join designer and tutor Nicola Cox to learn the skills of hand sewing techniques, including some basic mends, embroidery stitches, appliqué and Japanese Sashiko mending, to renew or repair favourite items in your wardrobe. This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the art of repurposing and mending textiles using simple hand-sewn techniques, encouraging creativity, sustainability, and skill-building.
No prior experience is needed—anyone can learn these accessible techniques and leave with a unique, repurposed or embellished piece they’ve created themselves.
Participants should bring along a favourite item of clothing that they would love to repair, embellish or bring back to life, along with any favourite scraps of fabric, embroidery or silks.
