Role description: Learn to identify and help monitor dragonfly species at Stover Country Park over a 3 year period
Supported by: British Dragonfly Society and Restoring Stover Park – Community Engagement Officer
Tasks and activities:
- To attend a training day to gain knowledge of Stover’s dragonfly and damselfly species and monitoring techniques
- To assist in monitoring and recording the dragonfly and damselfly populations at Stover Country Park through observations at the water’s edge
Training and Skills Received:
- Identification and survey training from a renowned Dragonfly expert.
- Experience in surveying species in the field.
- Receive a years free membership for the British Dragonfly Society.
Personal qualities and experience:
- 16-25 years old, living in the Newton Abbot area
- Good attention to small detail
- Commitment to the whole 3 year project
- Willingness and interest to learn
- Interest in wildlife
- Ability to travel to / from Stover Country Park independently
- Physically able to access the uneven terrain next to the water
