Significant Seams and Sustainable Crediton are collaborating to bring people together in creative actions that help communities act on the climate crisis and the cost of living crisis. Activities include making patchwork shopper bags from reclaimed fabrics, hand printing Xmas wrapping paper and fabric patches.
We are running drop-in patchwork mkaing sessions at the Green Hub on Crediton Square on a monthly basis as well as more structured courses.
We would love people to join us to help host the drop-in sessions and help others to make up the bags.
Volunteers need basic sewing skills with a machine and need to be able to help and support people with varied skill levels, generous in sharing your know-how whilst giving people space to find their own creative style and to make mistakes.
Other roles include making the bags at home, distributing leaflets, cleaning and preparing donated fabrics, representing the project at other events in Crediton e.g. Big Green Fair, Seed Share etc.
