February 16th - Morning (SEND and Higher Needs children) - Accessible Bikes February 20th - Afternoon (mainstream children) - Abseiling & Zipwire Bikes activity: With an impressive fleet of accessible bikes that cater to everyone’s needs, children can experience the joy, rush, and relaxation of our biking sessions around Wistlandpound Reservoir. You won’t find a traditional two-wheel bike here. Instead, we offer specially designed tricycles, handcycles, tandem bikes, and wheelchair front-loaders to suit all needs and preferences. The session is divided into manageable sections through the countryside route, with a ‘pit-stop’ halfway. Whether they're zooming around bends or relaxing at their own pace, our experienced staff will offer personalised support and instruction, ensuring everyone enjoys the benefits of biking. Abseiling & Zipwire activity: We have an outdoor abseiling wall suitable for use in all weather. Instructors explain the equipment and instructions, giving personalised advice and guidance throughout the session. Children will build confidence through the development of motor skills and coordination, as well as communication skills with fellow group members. Some children might find it more comforting to have someone abseil with them – in these situations, they can partner up and abseil side by side. Then it's on to the zipwire, where one by one, children are attached to our safety system through a harness. Once an instructor has completed all the necessary checks, it's time to fly down the wire and then zip back up to the start!
