Our Mission is simple – to provide outstanding care and support to the community of North Devon who are impacted by a life limiting illness. We see first hand the importance of focusing on the life in our days, not the days in our life. As one of our trustees, you will support the wider hospice team to make a difference to people’s lives and you will enable care and support to be given to people when they are feeling at their most scared and vulnerable.
We are looking for a new trustee, who is passionate about the work of the hospice to join our committed and dynamic Board, with the view to becoming our Treasurer. As our Treasurer you will work closely with the Board of Trustees, CEO and Director of Finance to ensure the financial governance of the hospice. You will also provide a strategic financial overview to the Board, keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities and chair the Finance and HR Committee.
We are looking for someone who has:-
- A financial management qualification
- Experience of charity and/or company finance
- Skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences
- Commitment to the vision and objectives of the hospice
- Great interpersonal skills, integrity, sound independent judgement and a commitment to quality.
Our trustees serve on a voluntary basis. The time commitment is on average 2 days a month, including meetings 4 times a year, along with additional committee meetings and internal working groups as appropriate.
If you are interested in joining our team we would love to hear from you. Informal discussion welcomed, please contact the Volunteer Office for more details:

We look forward to hearing from you.
Like any organisation, it’s the people who make a difference, so why not join us and make a difference to our patients and their families.
CLOSING DATE: Noon, Friday 30th August 2024
Date of interview: Monday 9th September 2024
Make time, make friends and make a difference.
