Our Mission is Simple
To provide outstanding care and support to the community of North Devon who are impacted by a life limiting illness.
Join our Clinical Teams and be part of something amazing!
Our clinical administration volunteers support our Clinical Palliative Care nursing teams, based on the Bedded Unit in Deer Park. You will be directly supporting the Bedded Unit and our Community clinical teams and your duties will include answering calls to the Bedded Unit in a timely manner, providing a rapid response.
Your assistance will allow our nursing teams to continue to provide patient care, knowing that all calls are being answered promptly and being held by a volunteer until a member of the team is available to respond if necessary.
- You will be required to take notes of a sensitive nature and obtain critical information from callers therefore good attention to detail is essential, along with a good calm telephone manner.
- The information will be relayed to the appropriate ward nurse, speciality doctor, community nurse, or the Hospice to Home team, so accurate note taking is essential. For more information, please download the Role Brief below.
Our available shifts are:
- Saturday 8.30am - 12.30pm
- Saturday12.15pm - 4.30pm
- Sunday 9.00am - 1.00pm
- Sunday 12.30pm - 4.30pm
We would appreciate a regular commitment to one (or more) shifts per week with some flexibility to cover holiday or sickness for other members of the Clinical Admin Volunteer team would be appreciated although not a necessity.

It is important that the people who work for and with us, or access any of our services, can be themselves and are valued as unique individuals. We are a forces-friendly organisation and welcome applications from Veterans and Service spouses and partners.
