Help us provide an essential service to people in South Brent, helping them maintain their mobility and dignity by providing a 6 weekly Nail Clinic. We offer toe and fingernail cutting for a donation, plus a good catch up for the time they are in the chair! And they can stay for a hot drink with our other volunteers before or after if they wish.
Often due to reduced mobility and flexibility as people get older or if they have an injury or disability they cannot reach to cut their own toenails. Keeping nails at an appropraite length ensures maximum walking ability, comfort in shoes and helps people maintain their dignity and independence.
As a Nail Clinic volunteer, you would cut peoples nails, check their forms/records and medication and also be good company for the 10 or so minutes that a person spends with you. You are the face of our organisation, as often people start by coming to this clinic and then find out what else we offer and then get some other help or come to one of our groups.
You would be supported by an experincied volunteer and given training.
This volunter role wouold suit someone who possibly has done some personal care in their background although that is not required, and is fine working with members of the public and their feet. This is a unique and very valued role by the local community, so we are keen to get our current volunteer the extra pair of hands she needs.
