Money Matters is a course designed to equip you with the skills & confidence to manage your finances effectively. We will focus on the digital tools available to assist with managing your finances. This session is ideal for participants who are not confident with maths or financing and will help to improve your confidence in a simple and easy to understand way.

Module 1 - Budgets, why bother?
This session will explore -
• What a budget is and why you need it
• How to monitor income & outgoings, including expected and unexpected costs
• Templates for calculating a budget
• Online budget calculators
Module 2 - Savings & Debts - Gaining & Losing interest!
This workshop will explore -
• Income, costs and calculating a balance
• Savings - how, where and what for?
• Savings & Debts on Budget Calculator
• Savings including saving clubs & discount cards
• Savings & Debts - what is the 50/30/20 rule?
• How to move your budget towards the 'green'
Module 3 - Planning for the future & balancing a budget
This workshop will explore -
- Reviewing budget planning
- Targets, goals and desires for future planning
- Saving rather than borrowing
- Using a budget calculator to plan for the next few months
This course will be run online, over 3 sessions -
Module 1 - Thursday 17th August - 5pm-6pm
Module 2 - Thursday 24th August - 5pm-6pm
Module 3 - Thursday 31st August - 5pm-6pm
This project is open to individuals in Devon who have not previously attained a GCSE Grade 4 or C or higher maths qualification.
