We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic member of our community to join us as a Local Policing Support Volunteer with the Citizens in Policing Team based at our Exeter headquarters.This role is very versatile and covers several activities within Devon & Cornwall Police. We are looking for someone who has an understanding around the importance of effective communication. They will also need to be comfortable with using computers and social media platforms.
Tasks may include:
· Assisting with updating social media accounts and policing website pages.
· Creation and distribution of newsletters.
· Assisting with research and supporting local crime prevention activities.
· Supporting police personnel with administration and office-based tasks.
· All volunteers are encouraged to support with local community engagement and events, such as helping at a local fair or some of the larger events such as the Devon County Show.
Police Support Volunteers undertake roles to support and enhance the day-to-day work undertaken by police officers and staff. By offering their time and energy they help address policing issues, enhance service delivery, and strengthen links between policing and the community.
Mileage expenses for personal vehicles will be paid at 45p per mile. Applicants should live within a 25 mile radius of their allocated station.
