We are looking for an individual to join us as a Local Police Support Volunteer with the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Launceston. This role covers several activities which aim to provide support to local police personnel. The Local Police Support Volunteer role is very versatile and allows volunteers the opportunity to get involved with lots of different activities within Devon & Cornwall Police.
Tasks may include:
- Assisting with updating policing website pages and social media accounts
- Creation and distribution of local newsletters
- Assisting with research and supporting local crime prevention activities
- Supporting police personnel with administration and office-based tasks
- All volunteers are encouraged to support with local community engagement and events, as well as larger events such as the Royal Cornwall Show
This role would suit someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Has knowledge of social media and skills in creating posts on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter
- Works well in a team but can also support independently
