Sensory Loss Equipment Advice
The sight and hearing team will carry out an informal consultation with you and advice on the equipment which might improve how you hear or how you read and see. The team have lots of different equipment and tools for sight and hearing loss, such as magnifiers and adapted telephones, they can demonstrate these to you and you can ‘try before you buy’.
Skills for Seeing
Macular conditions, such as age-related macular degeneration or juvenile dystrophies, cause loss of central vision. Skills for seeing training can help you to use your vision more effectively. Learning new ways of seeing can help with reading, taking care of yourself, getting about and watching TV. We have trained staff skilled in teaching two techniques which can help you use your vision more effectively. Please contact us for more information.
