Join us at Exeter Library for an evening of live arts, crafting and music, from 7.30 - 10pm. A chance to get stuck into crafty activities and try new things over a glass of wine or a soft drink. With activities that anyone can enjoy, regardless of skill or experience.
Get creative, have fun, and to help to create community art pieces, as well as beautiful things to take home. Featuring charcoal drawing, sweary pebble painting, castle building, dragon crafting and print making from established artists and organisations including Richard Rochester and Double Elephant Print. Plus, accompanying music from some amazing local jazz, electronic and acoustic acts, including House of Quiet, Saff Juno, Tricky Situation and The Real Ish Band. With drinks from Bar Nova.
PAINTING SWEARY PEBBLES
Join the mischief with Artist Sarah McFloof in this workshop painting ceramic pebbles with sassy strokes. Design and paint your unique pebble letting the colours and cheekiness flow freely. Take your masterpiece home to use as personal mood-lifter or a surprise gift for a friend.
PRINTMAKING
Be led by Double Elephant in a giant collaborative print - using colourful rubber stamps and screenprints we'll be making a huge natural world banner. Colourful teeming undersea worlds and beautiful gardens full of flowers. Make your own stamps and join the collaboration or print your own to take home.
CHARCOAL DRAWING
Explore the sometimes messy medium of charcoal with Richard Rochester. From complete beginners to more accomplished artists wishing to gain deeper mastery of charcoal as a medium, Richard will de-mystify the subject and encourage you to experiment.
CARDBOARD CASTLE BUILDING
Expert crafter and theatre-maker Emma Baskeyfield is back at Library Lates , armed with a tonne of carboard and bags of entheusiasm to create some gigantic builds. This a group activity, so join a team and build the most creative castle you can. The most awesome fortress will win a prize
DRAGON MAKING / PAPER PATTERN ROSES
Get snippy, sticky and creative crafting your very own beautiful and colourful dragons and paper roses to take home, using paper mache and collage. Led by our brilliant Library staff.
Plus drinks from Bar Nova, games, and live music from:
- Saff Juno (local indie pop-rock musician and BBC Introducing artist)
- The Real Ish Band (jazz-blues quartet ft quality heartfelt semi-acoustica.)
- Tricky Situation (local four piece band delivering a dose of smooth blues and soul.)
