Remap is a charity that helps disabled people of all ages to live more independent lives. Our national network of skilled volunteers design and custom-make equipment free of charge.
We help to improve the quality of life and increase independence for disabled people through providing solutions to everyday problems when there is nothing commercially available.
Remap’s volunteers respond to thousands of requests every year and our service is provided free of charge.
We have a local branch in Plymouth which has just launched but we need more volunteer support with leadership and administration roles.
Could you help support the local branch as its Leader?
In addition to assisting in leading the local branch, the lead will increase the charity’s profile to increase the number of referrals received and the number of active volunteers. The role will be supporting the panel to grow and develop. You will be an advocate for Remap and reach out to other organisations to build relationships and develop publicity and small-scale funding.
You must be:
- Confident to lead a small group of volunteers.
- Attend and lead a monthly meeting (in person and hybrid)
- Competent in basic computer skills and have access to a computer
- Able to enthuse volunteers and represent Remap locally
- Willing to attend local events to promote the charities work
- Able to understand and follow charity policies and procedures
- Able to understand and apply our risk management system
- Able to keep people’s personal data safe
