Kitchen Porter, Cornerways Residential Home, TQ3 2HS - 24 hours per week, to include alternate weekends. £12.25, £12.50 per hour at weekends.

Behind the scenes. At the heart of it all.

Let’s be honest - this isn’t always a glamorous role. It’s early starts, busy mealtimes, and a lot of dishes. But it’s essential.

Because without you, the meals don’t get made. The kitchen doesn’t run. And the people who call this place home don’t get the warmth, nourishment, and dignity they deserve.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll be part of something bigger. You’ll be behind the scenes, but your work will be felt in every clean plate, every hot meal, every happy mealtime.

What you'll be doing:

· Keeping the kitchen spotless, safe, and running like clockwork.

· Supporting the cook with food prep and serving of food to deliver well balanced meals on time.

· Washing up, clearing down, and staying one step ahead of the next mealtime.

· You will rotate stock in fridges, freezers, vegetable store and dry store cupboard in order to help us minimise waste.

· Being a vital part of a team that puts people first.

Who you are:

· A reliable, hard-working team player who takes pride in a job well done.

· Someone who understands that care isn’t just about what’s seen - it’s about what’s felt.

· No experience? No problem - we’ll show you the ropes if you bring the right attitude.

We can offer you:

· A supportive team who understands the power of what happens in the kitchen.

· Fully paid training and plenty of career progression opportunities

· Induction programme with a dedicated mentor to help you feel supported and comfortable in your new role

· Free DBS check and auto-enrolment pension

· The use of ‘Flex Earn’ enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time

· Blue Light Card eligibility – discounts on retail, eating out, and more!

· Free meals provided when working long shifts

· Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home’s ‘Whycare?’ app and Refer a Friend scheme (earn money for bringing your friends on board!)

This job won’t win awards. But it will make a real difference. Because in this home, every role is part of the care. And we can’t do it without you.

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of something meaningful -we’d love to hear from you. To find out more please contact us at [email protected]
