Our Mission is simple - to provide outstanding care and support to the community of North Devon who are impacted by a life limiting illness. We see first-hand the importance of focusing on the life in our days, not the days in our life. As one of our trustees, you will support the wider hospice team to make a difference to people’s lives and you will enable care and support to be given to people when they are feeling at their most scared and vulnerable.
We are looking for new trustees, who are passionate about the work of the hospice, to join our committed and dynamic Board. We are particularly keen to recruit members of the local community who have one of the following: -
• A background in nursing
• Strong local connections
• Experience of strong community engagement
• Experience of retail management
• Experience of working in a business or commercial environment at a senior level
• Experience of working in the technology sector
The Board of Trustees is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the charity and in all our trustees we look for great interpersonal skills, integrity, sound independent judgment and a commitment to quality. Our trustees serve on a voluntary basis. The time commitment is on average around 2 days a month, including meeting four times a year along with additional committee meetings and internal working groups as appropriate.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and influence decision-making within the hospice whilst contributing to the work of this essential local charity and making a positive difference to the local community. Previous trustee experience is not a requirement since mentoring and support will be provided. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Like any organisation, it’s the people who make a difference, so why not join us and make a difference to our patients and their families.
CLOSING DATE: Friday 19th January 2024
We are there for all the family, do you want to be there to?
