At the heart of Home-Start’s work is home visiting volunteer support. Home-Start works because our volunteers understand how hard it can be. They work alongside parents, in the family's own home, to help them cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, confidence and strength they need to nurture their children.
Our volunteers are committed and caring people who offer their time freely.
They are often parents themselves or have parenting experience and bring with them personal experience, parenting skills, and knowledge of the resources available within their local area. They are friendly and approachable and can be relied on and trusted by parents to listen without being judgemental, and to respect the needs of each individual family.

- Receive lots of support both during training, and after, when they are supporting Home-Start families from a designated volunteer co-ordinator.
- Can access additional training and social events throughout the year.
