-
12th August
-
2nd September
Currently we have two age groups (please ensure you select the right one!):
🔹10am - 12pm is for ages 4 to 10
🔹1pm - 3pm is for ages 11 to 16
We understand that every child is different - if you feel they should be in the younger or older group, please do book them into that.
Our Home Education sessions offer hands-on, inclusive learning experiences in a calm, natural environment. Designed for children aged 4 and over, activities are adapted to suit different abilities, learning styles, and interests. Parents and carers are welcome to stay and support their child’s experience.
Each week can include:
🦙 Animal Care
Children help with real-life animal care routines, including mucking out pens, refreshing food and water, grooming ponies and goats, and bathing the tortoise. They also have the option of keeping animal journals to observe and record what they’ve learned.
🌱 Gardening & Seasonal Growing
Throughout the term, children will:
Maintain their own raised beds, starting with weeding and soil preparation.
Plant herbs (including lemon balm and mint for herbal tea) and sunflowers.
Take part in seasonal picking around the site, including rhubarb, sweet peas, and broad beans.
Sow beetroot, runner beans, lettuce, chard, and other summer-friendly vegetables.
🧤 Child-sized gardening gloves (both latex and non-latex) and small tools have been purchased especially for these sessions.
🎨 Creative & Sensory Activities
Children will have the opportunity to explore their creativity with clay (air-dry or kiln-fired, where possible), painting, and craft activities linked to nature and the seasons.
💡 What to Expect
Friendly, supportive staff and a relaxed pace, which is child-led.
Outdoor learning, adapted for the weather.
Activities designed to encourage curiosity, independence, and self-expression.
Children under 4 years of age are welcome to come (free of charge), however they must remain with their adult guardian and they might not be able to join in with the activities. They will remain the responsibility of their guardian at all times and not our staff.
Children under 8 years of age are required to have an adult guardian stay with them. Guardians are not required to stay with children age 8 and over, however we recommend you stay on our site during the session (if you do leave, please ensure we have your mobile number). Please contact us if you would like to discuss this, by emailing [email protected]
Squash is included (with optional 10 minute break) and our café will be open 9am - 4pm.
