A course available to disabled people, those with a long-term health condition, and Deaf people who use British Sign Language (BSL).
The course will be an online photography meet-up in four sessions. It’s designed to be a get-together in a small group online with a task to do in between. This will be a photographic task to encourage people to get out and about wherever they can between the four sessions. The projects also cater for those who are unable to leave their home.
The aim is to have a great time looking at photos, talking about them and taking them.
All that is required is an interest in photography and any camera or phone. Participants need to commit to both dates and times. You do also need the ability to download your pictures to a computer and then upload them to wetransfer.com which is a straightforward process.
The session will be hosted by Vanessa Miles, a Devon-based professional photographer and director of Well Image.
We will be discussing what makes a good picture and exploring a few rules of good composition and when it’s best to break these! Also, how to ‘see’ good natural lighting for a photograph and how best to utilise this.
Participants will be expected to upload their photos by wetransfer.com or email them to Vanessa by noon, the day before the next session.
Vanessa will be displaying these images to the group to see how they have all got on. Much of the fun is to see how others have interpreted the ‘brief’ and to hear their experiences. We welcome positive feedback and encouragement whatever the level of photography.
This will be a fun, informal group for those who may not have participated in something like this before and want to dip their toe in the water!
