Our charity is looking for volunteers to help us deliver Robotics Workshops usually in Primary, but occasionally in secondary schools. We are looking for people who have an interest in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and in educating young people.
Our aim is to teach students to program Edison robots. We take our own robots into the schools and our presenters, several of whom have worked in industry, deliver the workshops. We need assistants to circulate during the class and assist the children. This is important as some children learn quickly and we can help them to explore more of what the robots are capable of. We normally stay in one school to deliver one, two or sometimes 3 lessons a day.
There are no fixed days for this. We contact volunteers when school visits are planned and check on availability for those dates. We cover North Devon and Torridge areas as well as other schools in the Holsworthy area.
You will require to have a DBS certificate which we can assist you obtain.
