Get Active with Nature – Youth Event with SMART Action Project & North Devon UNESCO Biosphere
Join us for an exciting and educational evening on Wednesday 11th June, as the SMART Action Project, in partnership with North Devon UNESCO Biosphere and SMART Swim Centre, hosts a special youth engagement event as part of the #BiosphereCommunities Project.
This fun-filled session is designed to help young people in South Molton get active in nature, boost wellbeing, build confidence outdoors, and reduce stress – all while learning about the environment in a hands-on way.
Who can join?
Young people aged 8–15 years.
What’s happening?
Start at SMART Swim Centre (5:00 PM): Test the pool water and discover the impact of the latest eco-upgrades.
Then head to the River Bray: Just a 10-minute trip by minibus for kick sampling – exploring freshwater invertebrates and learning how they help us understand river health, all led by our expert ecologist.
Return to SMART Swim Centre by 7:00 PM for pick-up.
Parents are welcome to drop off from 4:45 PM. A drink and light snack will be provided for the young people upon arrival at SMART.
This event promises to be active, educational, and inspiring – a perfect way for young people to connect with nature, learn new skills, and have fun!
