Working in Partnership with Statutory Services (Local Authorities & NHS) - Strategic Engagement, Collaboration and Getting Support

East Devon Deep Dive sessions look in-depth at a range of topics relevant to VCSE organisations, delivered by a range of experienced trainers.

2 hour session with 10 minute break

This is an introductory session aimed at VCSE CEOs/ Leadership Teams, to look at how to achieve effective engagement between the VCSE sector and statutory services through building relationships, fostering collaboration, and working together to address community needs and achieve common goals.

There is growing acknowledgement of the role that VCSE organisations can play in the wider system and there are increasing opportunities for local VCSE organisations to influence the longer-term direction of local policy and service planning.

What will this workshop include?

  • Mapping statutory organisation structures, strategic priorities & where responsibilities sit
  • Identification of strategic engagement opportunities (at county, district and local levels)
  • Exploring ways in which the VCSE sector in East Devon can engage with statutory services to collaborate, advocate, and enhance their impact
  • Looking at ways in which the VCSE Assembly can support local partnerships and initiatives

Participants will leave this session with increased shared understanding about strategies for interacting with public sector partners, including:

  • Creating Partnerships and Collaborations
  • Tackling the Complexity of Cross Sector Issues
  • Influencing – Advocating for Change & Co-production Demonstrating Social Value
  • Capacity Building- Investment & Demonstrating Social Value

This is an interactive session with space for questions, discussion and exploration. The facilitator will be Nora Corkery, Chief Executive of Devon Communities Together and a member of the Torbay, Plymouth & Devon VCSE Assembly.

Please note: this session is available to VCSE organisations working within East Devon ONLY. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
