This training is an in person, 3 hour training session held at the Devon Communities Together offices – 1 Northleigh House, Thorverton Road, Exeter EX2 8HF. Please note that a minimum of 6 attendees are required in order for this training to go ahead.

  • Are you starting or running a business, charity, or social enterprise and new to business planning?
  • Would you like to learn simple methods and tools that help you visualise your business model and respond to changes?
  • Do you want to understand how to capture and communicate your organisation’s plans?

What will the training include?

Many early-stage businesses can struggle with the challenges of starting out and achieving sustainability. This training session will demystify the process and allow participants to get hands-on with practical tools and methods for effective business planning that work for any size of organisation in any sector.

Participants will leave this training session with a practical understanding of business models and plans, defining who your customer(s) are, evidencing their needs, and clarifying your value proposition.

You will be able to apply what you have learnt to create a simple Business Model Canvas for your business, evaluate its effectiveness, and adjust to improve your business viability. This is an interactive training session and includes space for questions and exploration.

Please bring your own lunch but refreshments will be provided.

Please note: funding for this session is available to VCSE organisations working within East Devon ONLY. If you are a Devon organisation that is not based or working in East Devon please book using the booking for general Devon organisations.
