The Community Palliative Care Team is made up of our Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) & Hospice to Home (H2H) teams, offering specialist and hands on clinical care to our patients and offering practical support to our patients and their families.
To support the team, you will be based in the Community Palliative Care office at Deer Park, Barnstaple and you will be supporting the team with basic administrative duties as required and supporting the Duty Nurse in providing a rapid telephone response to all callers.
You will be be handling calls from a variety of people such as patients, their relatives, volunteers, external professionals, and staff. You'll also be required to take notes of sensitive and critical information from callers. You may also be making phone calls on behalf of the team and ensuring correspondence is dealt with appropriately, so it is important you have a good telephone manner, you are patient, polite, and are able to take accurate notes. A good attention to detail is essential.
Full training will be given and you’ll be directly supporting patients and their families, who we are privileged to support at North Devon Hospice.
