Become a volunteer with the Heritage Team at Barnstaple Town Council as part of the Digital Volunteers Team. This role would involve helping the Heritage Team develop and produce digital content and help us with digital outreach.
What Does The Role Involve?
Tasks vary depending on the type of activity/event. Typical tasks may include:
- Advertising events and activities – designing posters, leaflets, flyers etc.
- Social media updates, writing content for posts on Facebook, collating images for use on various platforms, etc
- Writing content for website pages and copy for publications
- Writing content for newsletters, from the volunteer perspective, and assisting with reports and updates to staff and Councillors
- Research work using IT
- Keeping up to date with digital technologies and advising BTC staff of the latest innovations
- Use of digital technology at events to record activities in photo, sound and film, including arranging permission for usage and adding captions where required.
- Working with the BTC staff and especially the Events & Communications Officer to promote the work of BTC
