About Us
Tor Support Services is a well-established charity based in Okehampton, Devon. We provide free, confidential
counselling to children and young people aged 5–25. Our work is rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and respect,
with a person-led approach at the heart of all we do.
We are now looking for a dedicated Counsellor to join our team, supporting young people aged 10 to 25, two
days a week.
The Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-to-one therapeutic counselling to young people aged 10–25
who may be experiencing a wide range of emotional, social, or mental health challenges. You will be working
within a person-led, client-centred framework, enabling each young person to guide the pace and focus of
their support.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver confidential, person-led counselling to young people aged 10–25
Work in line with ethical, safeguarding, and GDPR frameworks
Keep accurate and timely client records
Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings
Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals when appropriate
About You
Hold a recognised counselling qualification (minimum Level 4 Diploma)
Have experience working therapeutically with young people
Use a person-centred or integrative approach to counselling
Registered (or working towards registration) with BACP, UKCP or equivalent
Confident working independently while being part of a supportive team
Committed to safeguarding and upholding ethical practice
