At Stroke Torbay we often come across people who have dysphasia (speech and language difficulties) following a stroke, this can be very difficult to navigate especially following a traumatic event like stroke.
We are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer a one off training session for those who interact with someone with dyspasia. It will be held at Paignton Library Room 12 (first floor, lift available) on 21st October from 2pm until approx 3:30pm
This session will be taken by Jo Gibbs ( Highly specialist speech and language therapist, Newton Abbot Hospital TSDFT). Jo has kindly offered her time to come along and give us some conversation partner training to help improve our communication skills.
Please note this is NOT a speech and language therapy session, it is a training session with the aim of helping improve communication with those who are dysphasic, it will be packed full of information, tips and tricks we can practice at home.
This training session is free to attend, basic tea/coffee will be available for a donation to Stroke Torbay and is open to anyone who may benefit, please let us know if you will be attending so we can ensure we have enough space for everyone
