Marie Curie has a Hospital Companion service, offering compassionate individuals the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people at the end of life. Volunteers provide emotional and practical support at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital
Each week, you’ll support a different person - offering emotional care, companionship, and a calming presence when it’s needed most. You’ll also help shape this service, contributing to its development and impact within the hospital and wider community.
Availability: 3 hours per week - Mondays - Fridays anytime between 8am and 6pm
What you'll do:
- Spend time with someone each week
- Offer emotional support and companionship
- Share helpful info and connect families to local services
- Help shape a brand-new service that truly matters
- Complete a basic report after each visit
- Participate in regular wellbeing sessions, team meetings, and refresher training
Why you'd be a great fit:
