Artizan Printmaking and Sculpture Gallery, Torquay
- Dates: 23rd August – 27th September
- Thursday to Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm (or by appointment)
Dive beneath the surface and explore the captivating marine world through the eyes of Cornwall-based artist Beth Munro. Artizan Printmaking and Sculpture Gallery proudly presents a solo exhibition of Beth’s Hybrid Monotypes, etchings, and dry points, a project that began in 2022 and has blossomed into an expansive body of work.
Inspired by daily beach walks with her dog along the Cornish coast, Beth’s art is a creative response to the flotsam and jetsam offered up by the sea. Each piece is constructed layer by layer, using both natural forms and manmade materials collected from local beaches. These prints are more than visual stories—they are conversations with the ocean, exploring the complex beauty and fragile balance of life below the waves.
Beth documents the wonders and consequences of life by the sea, from intricate kelp forests to the impact of human activity. Her work is a vivid celebration of marine biodiversity and a gentle reflection on our relationship with the natural world.
Alongside Beth’s main gallery exhibition, in the Courtyard Gallery we shall be hosting a Retrospective of works by Brenda Hartill. Each space will also feature specially selected 3D works from our seasonal sculpture artists.
Don’t miss this immersive journey into underwater worlds, artistic process, and environmental storytelling.
