Please note this is a voluntary opportunity up to £30 per visit refer to reimbursing expenses including travel expenses.

We are looking for adult befrienders (in the West Devon area) to befriend a young person in care and meet once a month. The monthly visit may include going for a walk, a coffee, the cinema, to watch a sports game - an activity to chosen by the young person.

National Youth Advocacy Service empowers young people in the care system to have their voice listened to. One important part of this is to provide young people with a "befriender, mentor, role model" - someone who takes them out on a fun activity once a month, for a minimum of two years. Children in the care have complex needs and an INDEPENDENT person who gives their time VOLUNTARY is invaluable to them.
