Wander Women & North Devon Ramblers join forces for a celebratory walk together from Barnstaple town centre to Yeo Valley Woodland and Maidenford Hill, enjoying beautiful high-level views of the town and surrounding countryside. Starting at Barnstaple Central (Bear Street) car park and following town streets to reach Derby Road and then the entrance to Yeo Valley Woodland. Walking around the woodland and then taking a footpath to reach Waytown, before following Goodleigh Road to reach a footpath ascending Maidenford Hill. Returning to the car park via Sowden and Fort Hill.
This walk is held in partnership with the North Devon Ramblers to celebrate Naturally Healthy May as part of Devon’s Naturally Healthy Initiative led by Active Devon and Devon County Council. You can find out more about the campaign here

Terrain: Public footpaths, tarmac roads and woodland trails. Footpaths can be muddy in places. Stretches of ascent/ descent and steps.

Parking: Barnstaple Central (Bear Street) car park (free after 6pm).
Please wear weather/ ground conditions appropriate clothing/ footwear and bring snacks/drinks.
