Barnstaple Repair Café – Fixing, Connecting, Empowering
Location: Barnstaple Library, The Foyer
Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm (items to be booked in no later than 12.30pm)
When: Every 3rd Saturday of the month (excluding December)
Join us at the Barnstaple Repair Café, a vibrant monthly community event where sustainability meets skill-sharing.
Taking place at Barnstaple Library and supported by a passionate team of volunteers, this free service invites you to bring your broken household items and watch them come back to life.
Whether it’s a well-loved teddy bear, a faulty kettle, a pair of trousers needing a patch, or a garden tool that’s seen better days – our volunteers will do their best to repair and restore. We offer:
- Small household electrical and mechanical repairs
- Clothing and textile mending
- Soft furnishings and cuddly toy fixes
- Jewellery repairs
- Electrical PAT testing
Please bring items along from 10am onwards and ensure they are booked in no later than 12.30pm – this helps our volunteers finish on time and ensures everyone gets a fair chance. Depending on how busy the session is, we may only be able to repair one item per person.
While your item is being repaired, enjoy a cuppa, browse the library’s offerings, or simply soak up the friendly atmosphere.
It’s more than just fixing things – it’s about building community, sharing skills, and reducing waste.
Donations are welcome to help us keep the café running and support our volunteers, but there’s no charge for repairs. The café runs as a One Barnstaple project thanks to the collaboration of Barnstaple Library and Barnstaple Town Council.
If you’re unsure whether your item can be repaired, feel free to message us via the One Barnstaple Facebook page or email: [email protected]
See you at the Repair Café!
