Andys Man Club is a suicide prevention charity that holds peer to peer support groups for men aged 18+.
The charity was established in June 2016 and as of March 2025 has over 280 groups across England, Scotland and Wales. There are currently 11 Andys Man Club groups in Devon and they are looking to setup new groups in Mid and North Devon, particularly Tiverton.
Group meetings are held 7-9pm every Monday (except Bank Holidays) and volunteers would need to be available from 6.30pm to 9.30pm to assist in setting up and tidying up afterwards. A venue for the Tiverton group has not yet been decided upon but will be central with free parking on site or close by.
Volunteer tasks would include welcoming attendees to the group, helping to setup tea and coffee area, setting up rooms for peer to peer support sessions and helping to facilitate the sessions. Good listening skills are needed.
The charity provides uniform for facilitators, sends out monthly newsletters and provides in-person catch ups twice a year. A DBS certificate will be organised by the charity for all volunteers.
