A great opportunity to join a user-led charity working across the southwest to support D/deaf and disabled people to have a voice and to live their life, their way.
Overview of the Role
As an Advice and Wellbeing Officer at Disability Together, you will be a trusted source of support for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions across Devon. Your role is to provide clear, empathetic, and accurate advice - whether over the phone, by email, in writing, or face-to-face in the community - helping individuals navigate complex systems and access the services they need within their own local communities.
You will deliver high-quality advice, information and support tailored to each person’s circumstances; from quick queries and longer casework to delivering holistic wellbeing support. By breaking down barriers to support, promoting independence, and tackling loneliness and isolation, you will play a key role in reducing health and wellbeing inequalities and improving quality of life.
This is a person-centred role requiring excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to inclusive practice. You’ll work collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners, ensuring every interaction reflects our values of dignity, respect, and empowerment.
Disability Together exists to ensure people with physical, learning and/or sensory disabilities and D/deaf people with BSL can make an active and equal contribution in society.
In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing with length of service.
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Training and development opportunities.
- Flexible working options
- EAP
- Fully Accessible office with on-site parking
