Our Home-Start volunteers help families with young children cope with the challenges they are facing. We support parents as they build better lives for their children. We provide practical help and friendship in the family home.
Families struggling with depression, isolation, physical health problems, special educational needs and disabilities, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need. Any family under pressure where there is at least one child aged 5 or under can ask for help. in addition, our Mothers in Mind groups provide support to women who are struggling with their mental health in the perinatal period. Groups currently meet in Exeter on Mondays and Thursdays.
