I work for the government in an administrative capacity. Previously spent 25 years in education.
I am relatively new to the area. A friend suggested volunteering as a way of integrating into the community. As a teacher, mother and caregiver I feel that I have a lot to offer. My days have normally been chock full of activity and now suddenly they're not. I know what it's like to be alone, so in a way by helping someone, I'm helping myself. Am happy to help out with lifts/fetching groceries/going for a walk or just to make a cuppa and have a chat.
