YEalm Estuary to Moor: Creating wildlife corridors and increasing biodiversity
Yealm Estuary to Moor (YEM) was founded in late 2020 as a long-term community environmental project to create wildlife corridors within the catchment of the river Yealm, improving both the health of the River Yealm and encouraging biodiversity along its length.
Ultimately, the overall vision is to create a fully connected wildlife corridor, in doing so, YEM aims to improve the health of the River Yealm and encourage biodiversity along its length. YEM aims to do this in a manner that does no harm and leaves a sustainable legacy which conserves, recovers, and increases the resilience of the ecosystem in, and along the catchment. Our is very much aimed at making a difference on the ground and we are currently working to develop a Catchment-wide Management Plan. To achieve this, we work with an array of different organisations, landowners and community volunteers to provide expertise, funding and manpower to support specific projects and CSI programmes.
