Freedom Community Alliance is a Christian charity based in Barnstaple that seeks to offer practical and emotional support to those who are struggling with life limiting challenges such as social isolation, homelessness, poverty and addiction.
We host a multi-agency rough sleeper outreach team on site with representatives from health, mental health, council (housing and homelessness team) and charity support workers. The team run a day centre at the Freedom Centre during office hours and this includes an open access period between 1130 and 1330hrs where clients can access a free 3 course hot nutitious meal alongside personal support.
Freedom Housing provides 31 bed spaces and support for men and women who would otherwise be homeless locally.
We have a 9-12 month Treatment and Recovery programme with 13 spaces at our Therapeutic Community near Lynton and move on houses and a support worker in Barnstaple. This is for men who feel ready to face the causes of their addictions and finally break free from behaviours and thinking that have controlled their lives.
