Soundart Radio is a full time non-profit community radio station, regulated by Ofcom, broadcasting on FM in the Totnes area and online, since 2006.
The majority of programmes are made by local volunteers who come together to produce and present shows about things that matter to them. We are part of a global movement for community media and collaborate with stations around the world. We have a friendly community studio on the Dartington Estate where we also host creative workshops, arts events and relaxed socials. With our mobile studio we broadcast live from partner organisations and local events to increase accessibility and diversity of voices on air.
Volunteer opportunities include live programme making, looking after the studio space, assisting at events and representing the station. Our values: - We widen access to media and create positive change in society - We are a safe and welcoming space - We respect the environment and use resources with care - We value creative freedom and experimentation - We take care of ourselves, one another and the radio station. Programmes include: Discussions and long conversations, specialist music programmes, DJ sets, local music shows, creative writing and radio drama, arts chat shows, live improvisations, sound collages, field recordings, programmes made by under represented groups and creative shows made by children.
