The Norman Family Charitable Trust provides funding to charities, community groups and schools in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Here is a summary of the Trust's funding aims:
Below is a brief summary of the Trust’s Policies and Aims, which reflect the wishes of the Norman family:
The Trust’s primary objective is to help registered charities and other non-profit/voluntary organisations (including state schools) working in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset (not including Bath or Bristol).
Applications from East Devon are prioritised.
Applications from national charities will only be considered if the appeal relates to a project which will be of benefit in the Trust’s preferred area (see first point).
Grants are not available to any organisation which uses live animals for experimental or research purposes, regardless of the project.
Grants are not available for the maintenance or repair of religious buildings, nor for any project which is of a religious nature.
Grants are not available towards projects outside of the United Kingdom.
Grants are not available for individuals – only organisations can apply to the Trust.
All applications must be made online using the Trust's application form - please visit our website. Grants meetings are held every 2 months approximately and all payments are made via BACS. Grant recipients are expected to acknowledge receipt and all grants of £2,000 or more must be reported on within 6 months of payment using the online monitoring form provided (extensions can be requested due to project delays etc).
The Trust’s next Grants Committee meeting will be held on 24th July 2025 and will consider all applications received before midday on 26th June 2025. Please use our online application form to submit your application. Our next meeting after this will be in late September. A schedule of deadlines for the rest of the year is now available on the home page of our website.
