Organise events and run projects
Turn The Tide Teignbridge CIC is a not for profit community interest company run by volunteers - We are planning for June 7th, 8th and 9th June 2024! 3 days of environmentally-themed events aimed at people of all ages. We work in partnership with Dawlish Town Council and are very grateful for their financial and planning support.
Turn the Tide is an annual, free, family-friendly event for all ages that promotes care for our marine environment, seaside locations and waterways, and also wellbeing. It ran for the first time on 2nd June 2022 in Dawlish as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. Following very positive feedback, our aim is to organise a similar event annually.
Brought to you by local eco-friendly businesses, organisations, and communities each doing amazing things, supporting great local causes, and helping to put towns that care for the seaside, environment and their community’s personal health on the map.
Expect information stalls, educational activities, presentations and workshops for all ages, fun runs, recycled art, swap and share, repair shop, zero to landfill, wildlife organisations, cycling, sustainable energy, electric vehicle/bike demonstrations, young people/school involvement, entertainers, music/sea shanties, mermaids, and healthy nourishing options/demonstrations for the body and the soul.
- Fringe activities – We aim to involve schools, youth groups and libraries in creative activities prior to the event. We also engage with and consult other relevant organisations.
We have created a CIC to be able to run this event on a regular basis.

• The day has an educational element for both children and adults.
• That it embraces both sustainable lifestyles and the organisations and businesses which can
help promote environmentally attuned products and services.
• It is non-political.
