Art in Therapy
Helen Hamilton, MBACP* counsellor and artist, is offering a safe space for reflection and mindfulness through a 10 week peer support group. Helen will guide the group therapeutically, teaching watercolour techniques and focussing on honouring individual’s life journeys. Through exploring different metaphors found in nature we will connect to our own stories and aim to find greater peace and develop resiliency. Previous group members have found immense benefit in feeling connected by feeling seen, heard, and also offering that back to each other in kind and supportive ways. Groups will be small in size to enable a sense of safety and trust (usually 8 members) and commitment to the whole course (10 weeks for 2 hours a session) is greatly encouraged. No art experience is necessary but a willingness to share some experience of aspects of our lives is greatly encouraged.
